Sustainability

Made to be lived in
We don’t believe sustainability is about chasing perfection. It’s about making things that last.
Longevity is our starting point
Our products are designed to get better with age.
They’re built to be worn, washed, repaired, and worn again. To pick up character, stories, and memories along the way. We design with the intention that each piece becomes part of your journey. Something you reach for year after year. Something that might one day be handed down, not thrown away.
Natural by nature
We favour natural fabrics and considered constructions that feel good on the skin and wear well over time. Our shapes are intentional, our fits are relaxed, and our approach is guided by comfort, movement, and everyday wearability.
Natural fibres breathe, soften, and evolve with you.
Just as nature intended.
Care, the simple way
Caring for your clothing is part of the journey.
Our garments are made from high-quality materials designed to age gracefully. A little care goes a long way in preserving the fabric, the fit, and the feel.
We recommend:
- Cold wash only
- Wash with similar colours
- Turn garments inside out before washing
- Use mild detergent
- Avoid tumble drying where possible
- Air dry naturally to maintain shape and longevity
Washing gently and less often doesn’t just protect your clothes. It also reduces energy use and helps extend the life of what you already own.
Repair over replace
We believe repair is part of the story.
A loose seam, worn cuff, or small tear doesn’t signal the end of a garment. Often, it’s the beginning of a new chapter. Simple repairs can significantly extend the life of a piece and add a story that’s uniquely yours.
Mending, patching, resizing, and reworking are all part of responsible ownership. Clothing that’s repaired is clothing that stays in use.
Worn, repaired, re-imagined
We’re quietly building a community archive of pieces that have been lived in.
If you’ve repaired, altered, customised, or up-cycled one of our garments, we’d genuinely love to see it. Every repair, stitch, and change tells us how our products exist beyond the point of purchase.
If you’re happy to share, email photos of your piece to jason@virtuesclothing.com With your permission, we may feature selected pieces as part of our ongoing archive. No polish. No perfection. Just honest wear.
Less trace, more meaning
The only trace we want to leave behind is our footprints.
We’re conscious of the impact clothing has on the world, and we do our best to reduce ours wherever possible. That means:
- Choosing materials that age gracefully rather than wear out quickly
- Designing timeless shapes instead of chasing trends
- Producing responsibly and in considered quantities
- Focusing on quality so fewer pieces end up discarded
We’re not interested in fast fashion or disposable design. We believe the most sustainable product is the one you already own and continue to wear.
A work in progress
Sustainability isn’t a finished destination. It’s an ongoing commitment.
We’re constantly learning, refining, and making decisions that move us closer to where we want to be. We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we care deeply about asking the right questions and being honest about the journey.
Built with intention
Every piece we make is guided by a simple idea:
Make less. Make it better. Make it last.
Because clothing should live with you, not outlive its purpose.
